‘Once You Pass The Light You’ll Reach The Spire’ is the new EP from London-based producer, DJ and visual artist Morgan Hislop. For the first time Morgan is self-releasing this four track journey through his kaleidoscopic club sound.

The EP is the sound of sun-soaked delight, of unhinged energy and undoubtedly Morgan’s most uplifting release to date. Motivated by the unavoidable lockdown (and Charli XCX’s efforts), these tracks compliment the current club-less situation as the four unapologetic bops benefit a rich listen on headphones

The EP bursts open with ‘Apricot Autumn Glo’ a glistening Piano House cut - escalated by decadent vocal samples - the track practically evaporating with the heat. Lead single ‘Ultraslick Ultrahuman’ is an impossibly bouncy track littered with teeth-rottingly sweet synths and a wah-wah hook that pushes it along at breakneck speed. ‘Her Embrace will Take You To Ancient Places (The Light)’ follows with warm pads and a syncopated metallic voice before descending into rave breaks territory. The final track is ‘The Spire’ - a curveball in mood as distorted percussion and overwhelming wails pound over a heavy 4x4 beat. ‘The Spire’ is arguably Morgan’s hardest track to date and guaranteed to light up live DJ streams over the coming weeks.

‘Once You Pass The Light You’ll Reach The Spire’ arrives with artwork designed by Morgan himself. More streamlined than his usual artwork the EP designs feature hazy images of the indoors, reflecting our current situation and the loneliness that has engulfed our claustrophobic surroundings.
